When he moved to the beach, Clif needed a place to hang his freelance marketing and technical writing hat. While his background was in the energy, power and other big-tech industries, he could see the need among beach resort merchants for basic marketing services as he zoomed by on his bike.
Whether due to a head injury or not, he decided that if he could sell power plants in India and market power quality equipment in Nigeria, he could help Delmarva resort merchants rent bicycles or promote dog care services. Thus, Delmarva Action Marketing (DAM) was born. Clif is a mechanical engineer by education but decided while being recruited there had to be more to life than sitting at a drafting board and inhaling eraser dust. So, he joined GE's elite, 3-year Technical Marketing Program. That lead his being sent (with a healthy expense account) trailblazing the markets worldwide selling power plants and managing technology licensing agreements for most of the next 15 years. After GE, Clif started freelance marketing consulting and writing for a variety of high-tech companies, large and small. In one engagement, Clif turned a deeply in debt startup located in the owner's basement into a multi-million dollar business with such powerful distributors as Emerson, Schneider Electric and APC. Working alone out of hotels room in a third-world countries on sales worth tens or hundreds of millions of dollars in the balance, taught Clif how to be very resourceful. To keep costs low and value high for you, Clif handles much of the work in-house, however he also maintains a large circle of professional associates and marketing agencies to provide specialized support when needed for your projects. |
